The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl Disaster recommends that the Parliament adopts the Draft Resolution "On Elaboration of the National Programme of Technical and Material Re-Equipment and Social Development of the State Search-and-Rescue Services of the Ministry of Ukraine in Charge of Emergencies and Protection of People from the Consequences of Chornobyl"

The People´s Deputy, V.Kalchenko, the author of the Bill (Reg. No.1393), stated that "the said programme aims at creation of due conditions for development of State Search-and-Rescue Services that will be subordinate to the specially authorized central executive body in charge of protection of population and territories from emergency situations of technical and natural character".

Inter alia, the Bill specifies the technical and material re-equipment and social development of the State Search-and-Rescue Services; pays due attention to the scientific and technical provision of their development with the use of National scientific products, new technologies and production basis.
